Gold Coast Sunday update
4 years ago at the Gold Coast Bridge Congress, Margaret and John were each playing NS in teams from different towns. One of Margs’s team mates had a bad back and so John swapped to EW. If not for this little twist of fate their paths may never have crossed. After the round John asked Margaret’s partner Lynn if she was ‘available’.
I suppose during 14 boards he had plenty of time to be won over by her charm and finesse! They got together and have formed a wonderful partnership. 10 days ago they were married in Sydney.
The Pairs championship started on Saturday with pairs from Peninsula competing in most sections. Yvonne and Leslie, and Yong White and David Grout each just missed getting into the A final.
The various finals continue today.
