Following the lifting of the lockdown of the northern segment of the Northern Beaches, and there being no new public health requirements that we need time to respond to, we will recommence our normal clubhouse sessions on Monday 11 January.
We welcome you back!
Our clubhouse playing sessions will continue to use our normal booking system. We anticipate that clubhouse player numbers will pick up gradually. Any session without 6 pairs booked 24 hours before the session will be cancelled as not viable.
We ask you to fully honour the existing three basic protections against COVID-19:
- Staying away from the clubhouse if at all unwell
- Keeping your physical distance from others
- Maintaining strong hand hygiene
In line with current NSW Health guidance, we also strongly recommend that all who attend the clubhouse wear a mask unless inappropriate for medical reasons, or temporarily to communicate effectively, or to drink or eat.
Moreover to ensure that we retain our best practical protection against COVID-19 we ask for your active help in:
- Arriving within the 30 min period before a session and leaving promptly at its conclusion - this ensures that players of adjacent sessions do not mix,
- Having a volunteer greeter for each session reminding attendees of these protective layers and checking that non-members (and all who attend sessions where bridgemates are not used) either scan the club's Service NSW QR code on entering (preferred) or enter their name and contact details manually in the Visitor's Book,
- Ensuring the clubhouse is well ventilated with at least the entrance door and windows at the other three corners of the clubhouse open even when the airconditioning system is active (this system is also set for maximum ventilation),
- Choosing your own bidding box for the session and returning it to the bidding box trays so that they can be rotated for resting for at least a day before being reused,
- Having only one person touch the bridgemate device - and this person using the antiseptic wipes provided to wipe it down before and after each session,
- Using the hand sanitiser at the table frequently given that we are touching boards and cards that others also touch.
Our club-hosted BBO sessions will continue for those who prefer them though with the new Wednesday evening BBO game moving (probably) to Thursday evening. Keep up-to-date with our club's event calendar.
Thank you for your support of our club. I note that membership renewal payments will also be possible at the club. Any questions are welcome.
